Madelyn Lantz, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional counselor with a Master's
Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. Her private practice Memory Tree
Expressive Arts Therapy and Counseling is the latest addition to the
community of women practitioners at the Women’s Wellness and Education
Center.
Madelyn offers a holistic
therapeutic approach that utilizes the creative process and imagination as a
tool for personal growth and healing. Expressive Arts Therapy is based on the
premise that healing is a form of creative transformation. She provides a
creative path that is unique to each client’s healing journey by combining
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Intermodal Expressive Arts Therapy. Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy focuses on the thoughts and core beliefs that influence our
experience of life. Expressive Arts Therapy allows access to personal
transformation on numerous levels including body, emotions, soul and spirit.
Madelyn assists clients with expressing the deeper parts of themselves by
encouraging the unconscious to emerge through personal imagery.
Madelyn incorporates the
creative modalities of visual art, music, writing, movement, drama, sand tray
and spontaneous play. Individual, group, couples and family expressive arts
therapy offer a fun and practical approach to therapy, healing and
transformation.
Madelyn brings over 15 years
of experience from her involvement in various community mental health settings.
She has worked with adults, couples and families in adult day treatment;
partial hospitalization; assertive community treatment team; and outpatient
therapy programs.
Madelyn specializes in life
transitions; women issues; self esteem/self confidence; rites of passage;
empowerment; stress management; depression; anxiety; and creativity coaching.
