 Empowered Birthing
 Childbirth Education

Trish Beckman, RN, CNM and Holly Mason, IBCLC
Childbirth Educator (828) 333-0598

These fun, informative and hands-on classes were developed and are taught by Trish Beckman, nurse midwife.

This 12 hour class series meet Saturday and Sunday, for a weekend series and are focused on the natural process of birth. Trish believes that if couples can learn how the baby works with the pelvis and how the hormones support the process they can learn to work with all the natural tools available to support and promote normal birth. A special 4 week series may be offered on Tuesdays from 6-9 based on demand. Individual coaching and refresher classes, including lactation support,  available by request.

Trish focuses heavily on hands-on comfort measures, positions and massage techniques to give each birthing couple the tools they need to fully embrace and enjoy their labor.

Her supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere allows each couple to explore all the options available for birth and to make the decisions that are right for them. She welcomes VBACs to class, and couples planning either home or hospital births. Single mothers, alternative families and all birthing partners welcomed.

Trish's teaching partner Holly Mason IBCLC, RN teaches the breastfeeding segment of the class. Holly's style is fun, relaxing and very informative. Breastfeeding during the first week can easily be described as a three person sport and Holly strongly encourages partners to attend class and learn how to be most helpful and supportive as breastfeeding is initiated.
