Class Testimonials
"What a wonderful experience. I learned a lot and taking the class relieved anxiety. The videos were very helpful. What started as somewhat scary - became beautiful and touching as the class went on.
I appreciate your approach to learning and style of teaching. Also, the four week class schedule is ideal. Thank you both for your time and energy! You have such a wonderful thing going - keep it up!" Jane S.
"When my husband and I first arrived we were not sure what to expect. We loved how you touch on the fact that your husband is so involved. I think he feels now like he can do more than just hold my hand. He is confident he will be a big part of this experience. I am thankful for all the little things I learned most importantly don't forget to speak up in the delivery room.
I hope everyone enjoys this class as much as we did! I feel that my experience during the birth can be much easier because of all the knowledge I now know. We are thankful for Trish and we are very thankful for our baby!" Lindsey G.
"I just want to say to any moms who haven't heard of this place and group of people, they are amazing. I would recommend this place to any mom, its been a great starting point for us being new parents." Jen
Hi All,
I'm so sorry that it has taken me so long to give you all an update.
I
was a week and one day late. They threatened to induce me, and I spoke
with Trish about how to delay that. On Monday, Nov 23rd they ruptured
my membranes. Later on that day, at 11pm, I took evening primrose oil.
Then, at 1:20am on Tuesday, I went into labor!!
Douglas Kaighn Schildge was born on November 24th at 11:28pm. He
weighed 7 pounds and 5 ounces. He was 19 inches long. I was in labor
for about 22 hours. I stayed at home for the first nine hours until "I
didn't feel safe anymore"
I'd say active labor started around 4ish. I hung out in the tub, I
walked the halls, I sat on the birthing ball, and I stayed on top of my
breathing. I stayed at six centimeters for about four hours, and they
gave me the option of having my water broken. We decided to do that to
speed things up, and boy oh boy did that happen. I dilated the rest of
the way in a half an hour --- wow - transition is brutal. The
contractions just kept coming one right after the other. I barely had
time to catch my breath. Then, I felt the amazing feeling -- the urge
to push. I pushed for 20 minutes, and then Dougie was born!!! I even
remembered to tell the doctors not to cut the cord (which Ron cut)
until it stopped pulsing. Having a natural childbirth was the coolest
thing I've ever done. I have not used drugs in my life, but I was high
for four days after he was born. Seriously! What a feeling!!!
Dougie will be seven weeks old on Tuesday. He is 12.5 pounds and
about 22 inches long. He is HUGE! It's amazing to watch him grow. We're
all doing very well.
I hope you are all well!
Love,
Story, Ron & Dougie
