Power For Rising 4th, 5th, and 6th graders Why is sex education important for this age child?
Our whole lives are marked
by developmental milestones or rites of passage. In our sexual lives, these
milestones are happening earlier. Around early adolescence, girls become more
aware of gender, beauty standards, gender roles and sexuality. The life long
journey of sexual self-discovery starts to gain steam around this age.
Children want to talk with
their parent about sexuality. For parents, this can
be very anxiety-producing to
say the least. Learn how to have open dialogue
throughout your child’s
growing-up years, because when children are educated,
confident, and comfortable
with sexuality, they are likely to be good sexual
decision makers. An educated child is an empowered child.

Monday noon to 1:15
Thursday 8:30 am – 9:45 am
Classes cost $10
Classes are vigorous,
including sun salutations, balance poses, breath work, and 15 minute
meditation
with a head-rub. Please join us at lunchtime (noon to 1:15) on Mondays
or
before work or after the kids go to school (8:30 to 9:45) on Thursdays.
